Creating Joy at Work Isn’t Touchy-Feely

When we set out to write, we hope to change the world.

At least that’s what I hope to accomplish. Sure it’s idealistic. The truth, however, is that I don’t write for myself. I write to express myself, but I hope to help you… the reader.

It’s with this service attitude that I am pleased to announce my first multi-media book – Creating Joy at Work. And it’s published on a great new platform, Snippet App.

You know I’m a major advocate for making work meaningful and that managers today have a responsibility to help make it so. Creating Joy at Work is an extension of this thinking.

Because Snippet is so new, here are a few tid-bits to keep in mind when getting the book:

  1. Download the Snippet App from iTunes. Android and Kindle options are forthcoming.
  2. Find my book, Creating Joy at Work, and download it. It’s currently selling for .99 and is the second most popular Snippet!
  3. Get yourself a cup of coffee, and enjoy!

After you read my Snippet, please let me know what you think. Let’s keep the conversation going. In fact, you can tweet from the book anytime you find something

tweet-worthy. Please use the hashtag #joyatwork. You can also post to Facebook directly from the book!

The technology is brand new. I’m honored to be part of what I believe is a growing trend in the publishing industry to allow you, the reader, to interact with me, the author, while you read the book. Snippet is leading the way!

I appreciate your support. Now let’s go create some joy in our workplaces!

Shawn, having read “Joy at Work,” let me say: BRAVO! This is a must-read book (or, micro-book, or….) and the multimedia aspects are truly the future of reading, and of publishing. It’s just fun to read something so interactive!

As you know, I’m following your lead and working on my own Snippet. Yes, I love this cool new technology.

Friends, visitors, Leaguers: you have GOT to check this out!

I was awaiting the release of Pat Flynn’s Snippet book, but I wanted to try out the app first. I was immediately drawn to your book title and I am now following this blog as a result. I am an avid fan of good leadership and people management. There are so many bad managers out there and it breaks my heart or angers me to hear about them. Thanks for focusing on this issue and I will continue to spread your word via social media.

Amy, I love this story. Than you for sharing it. We welcome you to our growing family. We have a lot of fun exploring how managers can be more human in the 21st century.

There’s a more human way to do business.

In the Social Age, it’s how we engage with customers, collaborators and strategic partners that matters; it’s how we create workplace optimism that sets us apart; it’s how we recruit, retain (and repel) employees that becomes our differentiator. This isn’t a “people first, profits second” movement, but a “profits as a direct result of putting people first” movement.
