Has The Social Age Forever Changed the Recruiting Game?

Is social media a part of your recruitment strategy? Does it play a strong role or is it just another layer of frustration?

Potential employees can use social media to research your company in order to learn a little bit more than what your website says. Just as companies can use social to research potential candidates to make sure they’re worthy of an interview. But how much of an effect has social had on the recruiting game?

#SocialLeader chat took on this topic on Monday night. Here are a few excellent takeaways from the discussion:

  • When used properly social is a great tool for HR and recruiting
  • Social media will never kill the resume. It will just add value.
  • CEO doesn’t have to be social, but a company needs social leadership to be competitive in the social age

There’s a more human way to do business.

In the Social Age, it’s how we engage with customers, collaborators and strategic partners that matters; it’s how we create workplace optimism that sets us apart; it’s how we recruit, retain (and repel) employees that becomes our differentiator. This isn’t a “people first, profits second” movement, but a “profits as a direct result of putting people first” movement.
