How Social is Your CEO?

Let’s face it: social leaders – or as we call them, “Blue Unicorns” because they are so rare – remain hard to find. Only a small percentage have embraced and leveraged a social mindset like Richard Branson, Arianna Huffington and Peter Aceto.

Many leaders, however, are starting to realize that having an effective online presence is a huge asset to their organization, mission and their personal brand. They are coming out from behind the desk to show some character, leadership, social awareness, and even vulnerability.

This infographic from Chrissy Gomez and the team at MBACentral takes a close look at The Social CEO, and their use of social media. Take a look, and then ask yourself: “How social is the leadership of my organization… and what can I do to help them become a Blue Unicorn?”

There’s a more human way to do business.

In the Social Age, it’s how we engage with customers, collaborators and strategic partners that matters; it’s how we create workplace optimism that sets us apart; it’s how we recruit, retain (and repel) employees that becomes our differentiator. This isn’t a “people first, profits second” movement, but a “profits as a direct result of putting people first” movement.
