#SocialLeader Chat: Leading IT in the Social Age with David Bray @fcc_CIO

Social Leadership is more than tweeting or uploading to Instagram a picture of yourself at an event. Social leaders understand the powerful role social plays in business, in serving customers, even engaging employees in important conversations.

Federal Communications Commission (FCC) CIO Dr. David Bray knows first hand the powerful role social plays. From sparking conversations with the public to leading change in the FCC, Bray leverages social and the mindset to bring people together. In an article on I-CIO, Bray also highlights how social helps advance the mission of the FCC: “You can share what you’re doing and where you’re going.”

Dr. Bray is a leader in this Social Age. His work in the public sector as a social leader is compelling; Bray challenges the rigidity commonly associated with government.

The progress Bray has made as CIO at the FCC is one worth understanding more deeply. With this in mind, Switch & Shift and Executive Social Academy are excited to announce that this coming Monday, October 12, 2015, we will host Dr. Bray in a Blab session.

Here are the details:

  • Blab session is Monday, October 12, 2015
  • Session starts at 5p Pacific, 8p Eastern
  • To watch the interview, use this link: https://blab.im/ffht2g

Joining me as host are Mark Babbitt and Jim Claussen. We’ve got a great interview planned. We look forward to sharing the time with you.

Note: #SocialLeader Chat will not have a separate chat outside the interview. We invite everyone to watch and chat in Blab during the interview.

There’s a more human way to do business.

In the Social Age, it’s how we engage with customers, collaborators and strategic partners that matters; it’s how we create workplace optimism that sets us apart; it’s how we recruit, retain (and repel) employees that becomes our differentiator. This isn’t a “people first, profits second” movement, but a “profits as a direct result of putting people first” movement.
