Switch and Shift’s Top 75 List of Human Business Champions

post

At Switch and Shift, we are passionate about “the human side of business”. And we’re not alone.

As we’ve grown, we’ve recognized that we are not the only ones with this deliberate focus on bringing the human aspect of work back into the workplace. The message is becoming accepted in bigger circles: for businesses to thrive in what we call the “Social Age” we must inspire and care for those who work with us.

All around us are thought leaders who know that being “human first” must be a core characteristic. That focusing on building a positive, enabling work environment makes us far more productive. That engaging with employees and customers – as fellow humans worthy of respect – pays huge dividends. And that leading from a motivating, empathetic position is good for both our people and our profits.

It is those thought leaders we honor now.

Today, Switch and Shift is proud to feature our first annual list of the Top 75 Human Business Champions – those Rebel Heretics who know how we were taught to lead in the Industrial Age is not the only way, and not the best way. These Social Age leaders have shown they are not afraid to speak up and say:

“I choose to be different. I choose the human side of business.”

As we compiled this list, it became clear that our focus wasn’t on those with the biggest personal brands or the most Twitter followers. Instead, we focused on character, a unique voice, and a collaborative mindset. We found ourselves selecting those willing to lead by example and to serve as mentors over those perhaps more adept at self-promotion and the ability to sell product. Ultimately, we’re very proud to say many on this list have become friends and partners – we love working with them, and learning from them, every day.

In alphabetical order and with abundant respect, here is Switch and Shift’s list of Top 75 Human Business Champions!

Who would you add to this list? Who did we miss? Who is making such a real difference with their approach to the human side of business that we should start watching now? Let us know in the comments below!
