When Your Actions Mean More

Don’t be so naive to think that what you stand for as a leader can be verbally communicated.

When it comes to your stand, your words mean less.

Let your actions speak volumes for what you believe.

When your actions speak volumes, people will hear your words.

I say to my clients, as leader, you’re always being watched. Everything you say and how you say it. Everything you don’t say and how you don’t say it. How are you spending your time? Is it in alignment with the values of the organization.

    Nice short post.

      Steve,
Great question about how is time spent. If taken seriously, it should elicit good conversation.

As I say to my clients…’The #1 parenting rule applies to leaders: It’s not what you tell your children … it’s what they see you doing. Particularly in the small actions that may not mean a lot to you, but are powerful to them.’

It’s removing ourselves from the center of attention and shifting it to employees or the teams we lead. It’s a bit counterintuitive in most organizations. Thankfully people like you, Alan, are there to help people see this.
